Julia Garami is passionate about helping clients turn emotional challenges into emotional growth by combining a warm approach with evidence-based therapy. She believes that everyone has inner strengths and resources to overcome challenges and has the potential to live a rich and meaningful life.
Her core approach is creating an empathic and caring therapeutic relationship with her clients, from which they can co-create practical strategies to handle difficult thoughts, situations and emotions effectively.
Julia works with both adults and young people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, child behavioural issues and oppositional behaviour, self-harm, suicidal ideation, obsessive compulsive symptoms, low-self esteem and life setbacks.
She tailors therapy using a number of approaches, including cognitive behavioural therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy, and practises clinical hypnosis to overcome psychological and emotional issues that have not yet responded to treatment.
Julia completed her Master of Clinical psychology in 2020 and her PhD in Addiction Psychology in 2018. She has extensive experience with clients dealing with drug and alcohol issues and relapse prevention strategies.
Julia Garami is available for appointments online and occassionally in person.
