Jeremy Paterson
Clinical psychologist

Jeremy Paterson has experience working with children, adults and families, helping them to better understand themselves and connect with others.

His qualifications include Bachelor of Arts (Psychology), Graduate Diploma in Psychology (with Distinction) and Master of Clinical Psychology.

Jeremy strives for a warm and accepting therapeutic approach and welcomes people with a variety of challenges in their lives. He has eclectic interests in a wide range of evidence-based treatments, including cognitive behavioural therapy, schema therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, psychodynamic therapy and narrative therapy. Ultimately, Jeremy’s goal is to treat each person as an individual by supporting them to reach their full potential.

Through tailored treatment and an empathetic lens, Jeremy endeavours to create a safe and secure therapeutic environment to explore a person’s complex needs.

Michael MacDonald
Clinical psychologist

Michael MacDonald is a clinical psychologist, and the founder of NorthPsych.

His qualifications include master’s degrees from the London School of Economics and Political Science and the Institute of Education at the University of London, as well as a Master of Clinical Psychology from Macquarie University.

Mike is a member of both the Australian and British Psychological Societies and a clinical supervisor at the University of Western Sydney, Macquarie University and Sydney University.

He has previously taught or worked at Macquarie University Psychology Department and Centre for Emotional Health, Sydney University, the NSW Institute of Psychiatry, Knox Grammar School, Villawood and Baxter Immigration Detention Centres, Windsor Police Department (Canada), Macquarie Hospital and in NSW prisons.

Mike regularly consults with schools, the family court, professional, medical and community organisations such as Lifeline and the Association of Independent Schools.

He has a specific interest in trauma, attachment, neurophysiology, paediatric clinical hypnosis and narrative therapy.
