Bachelor of Psychological Development and Education Disciplines
Certificate III and Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

Hi! My name is Jenny Alpago and I work at NorthPsych offering learning support to children from early childhood through to adolescence.

A little bit about me: I have been living in Australia for four years and I am totally in love with this country! I am from Italy where I studied child psychology. Currently I am undertaking a bachelor’s degree in counselling.

I have adopted a ginger cat named Ollie; I love swimming; my favourite colour is light blue and I love pizza! I am a passionate, intuitive and caring person, patient and charismatic and I am always attentive to patients’ wellbeing.

I have a natural predisposition to and genuine interest in helping others, especially children.

My approach is to use positive communication and provide a respectful and safe environment, using a variety of strategies and tools. I love being surrounded by children and that’s why I have focused my attention and studies on them all these years.

The range of my working experience includes different environments like childcare, preschool, primary schools and high schools. My previous experiences has also given me the beautiful opportunity to work with autistic children at various levels.

I absolutely love working with children and my primary aim is to help them to build self confidence in order for them to reach their goals and succeed in life. As Erik Erickson said: “There is in every child at every stage a new miracle of vigorous unfolding.” I strongly believe that every child has that spark to show to the world.

My task is to guide each of them in expressing this. What will I do here? To be specific, my position will involve supporting children 1:1 or in small groups, in learning education, early interventions, school observations and more.

The materials I use during my sessions will differ with the child’s age and it will go between toys, books, creative arts resources, table games, educational media (videos), drawing, musical games, theatrical presentations, and storytelling, just to name a few.

Looking forward, I would love to get my registration as a psychologist and explore my interest in perinatal mental health in order to support pregnant women and new parents.

I am thrilled to start, and I am awaiting your children with open arms!

My qualifications, a Bachelor of Psychological Development and Education Disciplines from the University of Trieste is comparable to a four-year Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC)-accredited sequence of psychology study. I also have a Certificate III and Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.
